Remembering Dr. Richard Fedorak
Dear Colleagues and Supporters of the ASG,
On behalf of the ASG, we would like to pass our deepest condolences to Richard's family and loved ones. Richard was an inspirational leader that tirelessly promoted gastroenterology and digestive health. He was a visionary with a practical touch. While many of us aspire to this, Richard would make things happen.
He was a strong advocate of the ASG and its goals. Among many meetings, Richard co-founded the Alberta DDW Review Course, which led to our current ADDS meeting. He sought to bring the digestive health community together, recognizing expertise in the academic and community practice. That vision is still strongly engrained in the ASG today.
Richard was recognized for his many accomplishments as an exceptional clinician, researcher, teacher and leader. However, I think his legacy of inspiring leadership in gastroenterology will be one of his enduring attributes. He always gave time to provide mentorship and well thought out advice. Personally, I will deeply miss those chats.
To cherish his memory, we should aspire to forward his goals of working together to improve digestive health.
An open house for family, friends, patients, and colleagues to remember Richard will be held at the Edmonton Golf and Country Club - Ramsay Room from 6:30 to 9:00 pm on Friday, November 16. Please click HERE to read the full Obituary.
